Na oficina “Construção de câmerasartesanais”, Dirceu Maués propõe um exercício prático e divertido de desmonte da câmera e do processo fotográfico. A partir da construção de câmeras artesanais, os participantes poderão explorar as possibilidades criativas da fotografia.

Since the emergence of digital technologies, photography has become increasingly accessible. But taking a picture goes way beyond the simple act of framing and pressing a button. In the “Making Handmade Cameras” workshop, Dirceu Maués proposes a practical and entertaining exercise about camera dismantling and the photographic process. Starting from the construction of handmade cameras, attendees will be able to explore the creative possibilities of photography.

PROFESSOR
Dirceu Maués graduated in Visual Arts at the University of Brasília and is taking a Master’s Degree in the Post-Graduation Program in Arts of the UnB. He worked as a photographer for the main newspapers of Belém/PA between 1997 and 2008. In 2003, he started his authorial work in the fields of photography, filmmaking and video production, based on the research done with the construction of handmade cameras and the utilization of unreliable devices. In 2009, he was a resident artist at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin through the Rumos Itaú Cultural program, also being awarded with the 2008/2009 Funarte Scholarship for the Support of Artistic Creation. Maués has held individual exhibitions in Berlin (Germany), Montevideo (Uruguay), Katowice (Poland), São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre, Curitiba and Belém (Brazil). In 2012 he was a resident artist at the WBK Vrije Academie in The Hague (Holland), after being awarded at the 17º Festival Internacional de Arte Contemporânea SESC_VIDEOBRASIL. His works integrate the following collections: Pirelli-Masp, FNAC, Videobrasil, MAC-PR (Museum of Modern Art, Paraná), MARP-SP (Museum of Art of Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo), MEP-PA (Museum of Pará), the Joaquim Paiva Collection, and the Rubens Fernandes Jr. Collection.
